Dear Reader
While we have an overflow of Gratitude articles from our June addition, sadly we have not received articles for Step or Tradition Seven. Please do consider sending articles expressing your personal experience, strength and hope regarding our wonderful Steps and Traditions as our beloved Share magazine is based on bringing personal sharing on the relevant Step and Tradition each month.
For me, Step Seven is totally encapsulated in the Step Seven prayer (BB p.76). To have the humility to continually ask my HP to remove those characteristics that are getting in the way of living a spiritual life in the moment – and to remain ever vigilant of my own behaviour. To no longer make unreasonable demands on myself or others, and to trust in my Higher Power. Not to berate myself, but to gently realign my thinking with kindness and compassion.
As always, while remembering that every AA group ought to be financially self-supporting, it is vital that we all remain aware of the service positions needed to sustain the groups we attend and continue to help in whatever way we can. The AA Service Handbook is a great source of information for anyone thinking of taking on a new service position at any point in the AA service structure – as is talking to others who have carried out that service.
All the AA Steps, Traditions and Concepts help keep balance in our lives – while using them as a bridge to normal living, a spiritual life based on recovery, unity and service.
