Dear Reader
As the end of another year approaches, I find myself reflecting on just how wonderful the AA spiritual Programme of recovery is. I have absolutely no doubt that I would have been unable to handle the many challenges that life continues to present without this amazing blueprint for living. Step Twelve reminds me how much my physical, emotional, mental and spiritual sobriety depends on living in the Programme. As time passes so much has been absorbed and become second nature, but I don’t forget there is so much more to learn. It is a personal journey of continual self-discovery and willingness to change those behaviours which are no longer appropriate. There are many opportunities within AA to carry the message, but I can also share my journey, perhaps as part of an AA Public Information initiative to raise awareness of AA or the Prison Postal Service. After all, AA may be anonymous, but it must never be invisible.
Within Tradition Twelve, placing principles before personalities is not always easy but honest reflection, connecting with my Higher Power, talking to my sponsor or other Fellows I trust are all part of staying on my spiritual path. I love reading all the AA literature available, it’s so interesting to find out how AA has evolved in the past 90 years, with all it’s challenges, mistakes and successes. It also reminds me that my real importance in AA is to carry the message by sharing my experience, strength and hope honestly and from my heart.
Next year we will have just one additional theme – Prison, in September 2026. Perhaps you might consider carrying the message by becoming part of the Prison Postal Service.
And so, with immense gratitude for having had the opportunity to be part of Share, it’s not only the end of the year but the end of my time at Share. Thank you to all who contribute, purchase and make Share happen – keep up the good work. Love in Fellowship.
