Editorial
We recently asked members of AA to sum up their gratitude for AA in 90 words or less (see page 4 onwards). I wrote one myself and when pondering what to write for this editorial, I decided this was all that was needed:
Before I came into AA I didn’t want to be alive any more. I couldn’t sleep at night because I didn’t want to wake up the next day and go through it all again.
When I arrived in AA everything was very grey and lonely. I heard people say they were grateful when they woke up in the morning and were alive and sober.
Today, that is me. I look forward to going to bed at night and I’m grateful when I wake up. Life really is beyond my wildest dreams – I’m grateful to be alive, for AA and to be sober.
