AA Worldwide
Hi there – having just returned from the trip of a lifetime, I’m now coherent enough to type and submit this article for our wonderful Roundabout magazine.
In the middle of last year (2024) I was given the go-ahead from my oncologist to take a holiday – so we certainly did! I would add, however, none of this would have been possible without my Higher Power, the Fellowship of AA and all the recovery tools.
We were away for a few weeks so did not manage to pack too many Roundabout magazines but did smuggle a few into my suitcase. As always when on holiday, I make a point of visiting a local meeting and/or meeting AA friends. This holiday was no different, other than I met up (face to face) with people I’d met online over the last few years, so my supply of Roundabouts dwindled quickly.
The hand of Fellowship was extended to me in Australia, New Zealand and Dubai. Guess what, the message and friendship at the meetings was just the same as in Scotland! At an early morning meeting in Bondi Beach, I was welcomed into the room by a guy from Scotland – he’s actually from my current home town! HPs working in unison that morning.
This is such a wonderful Fellowship – God bless you all.
