Roundabout July 2025

Editorial

Defects of character - nope I’ve not got any ... well, if you are really going to push it, I certainly don’t want all of them removed! That was what I thought a few years ago anyway, I wanted to keep those that I thought made me ‘fun’. I had to ask my Higher Power to remove all of my defects so I could find out who I really was in those first few years. I’m glad I did and I’m glad I have the awareness of my defects, or ‘default settings’ as I’ve heard them called. Today, my defects are creeping to the surface due to current circumstances but that’s ok, having the awareness of them and when they creep in is key - it means I can still work on them.

Today I’m more short-tempered than I’d like to be, I’m angry and too sensitive some of the times, but I’m aware of it and I know the cause and I also know how to work Step Ten and apologise when I need to and make amends. Progress not perfection!
