Group 7th Tradition Contributions – Payment Details
In accordance with Tradition 7, AA needs to be self-supporting; it can’t accept outside donations.
As mentioned in the AA Structure Handbook it is recommended that after paying their approved expenses (eg rent, refreshments and literature) and retaining a prudent reserve of one month’s rent Groups send any surplus Tradition 7 funds to their Intergroup Treasurer.
These funds are initially used by Intergroups to support Groups in their primary purpose work (including at BELI a Public Liability Insurance Policy covering all Group Meetings) and improving and maintaining good relations with all organisations in the community.
After retaining a prudent reserve, Intergroups then forward the surplus to AA Group Service Office in York to fund the numerous activities they undertake to support the Fellowship, such as the Telephone Helplines, the AA Website and Meeting Finder, the Online Helplines and Chat Now service, Service Literature, AA Service News, Share & Roundabout Magazines, the Annual General Service Conference and completion of projects and activities requested by the Fellowship at Conference, liaison at a national level with Professionals and Government Agencies etc etc
Without Groups contributing the Tradition 7 monies none of this would be possible.
For details of the BELI bank account or the address to send cheques please email the Treasurer at [email protected]
Thank you
