Microsites
All Intergroups and Regions have microsite space allocated on the AA website.
The site content can be edited using the WordPress Microsite Content Editor. As ECLO you should have a user name and password to access the Microsite Editor for your intergroup. If you do not have these, request access  from the AA Help Desk.   Expand the accordian labelled “Request Access to Filestore and/or Microsite” and click on the link to request access to the Microsite. Here is a link to the AA Microsite Guide which explains the microsites and editor further.

Emails
Every intergroup officer has a special AA email address; this is for security and anonymity so that you are not using your own personal email address.

Once appointed as an AA intergroup officer, you can obtain your AA email address by contacting the AA Helpdesk and and selecting the AA email login option. Click on the link to download the ‘Intergroup and Region Officer Registration Form’.  Complete the form, as appropriate, and send it to GSO at the email address indicated in the form.

File Storage

As an Intergroup or Region officer you can request space in the File Storage Area on the AA website. To gain access to this, simply send an email using the Helpdesk facility by contacting the AA Helpdesk Expand the accordion labelled “Request Access to Filestore and/or Microsite” and click on the link to request access to the Filestore.

Online Response Service (Email Responder)
The Online Response Service replies to the 1,200 plus emails received each month to the email address help@aamail.org by putting the still suffering alcoholic in touch with their local AA meetings.

Responders are AA members who work from their own homes in 2-hour shifts using simple an mail system. Training and ongoing support is provided and responders collaborate and help each other via a private online chat group.

2 years’ continuous sobriety is recommended as well as a good understanding of the AA Programme, 12 Step work, the Traditions and Guidelines. Applications will need to be endorsed by your Intergroup or Region and we ask responders to commit to at least 2 hours per week.

Chat Now Service (Responder)
Chat Now gives people visiting the AA website live contact with a member of the Fellowship who can give them information on local meetings and other questions dealing with AA and alcoholism.

Chat Now is made up of a team of volunteers who work in 2 hour shifts from their home computers. Comprehensive training is given, but it is recommended that there be a working knowledge of computers and of the internet.

Requirements: 2 years’ continuous sobriety, a good understanding of the AA Programme, 12 Step work and the 12 Traditions and Guidelines. All applicants will need a written endorsement by their Intergroup or region.
