Electronic Communication Liaison Officer

Chapter 3 of the AA Service Handbook contains a description of the areas covered by the Electronic Communications discipline. This chapter was substantially amended by Conference 2017. The printed Handbook still contains the unamended chapter: the new version may be read online here (pages 35 - 38).

Section 3.5 contains a brief outline of the role of the ECLO. During the Seminar held on August 5 2017, there was a wide-ranging discussion of the work done by different ECLOs. A summary of this discussion will be made available shortly, and shold be read in conjunction with Section 3.5.

It may be seen as a range of tasks undertaken by some ECLOs, but is not a definitive description of the role. Whether some ECLOs undertake a particular task will depend upon Intergroup/Regional policy, as well as the technical abilities of the individuals concerned.
