Electronic Communication Liaison Officer

A handout was distributed at a meeting of ECLOs on August 5, 2017. It may be read here.

This meeting was attended by around 40 ECLOs, and the handout was the basis of a general discussion on The Role of an ECLO.

There are two parts to this paper:

  • The factual part shows the current wording of Section 3.5 of the Service Handbook. Chapter 3 was substantially amended by Conference 2017. The printed Handbook still contains the unamended chapter: the new version may be read online here (pages 35 - 38). Section 3.5 is a brief description of the role of an ECLO. It was not the intention of the discussion to propose changes to Section 3.5.
  • The 'Some Questions' part posed some scenarios in which an ECLO might assist the workings of Intergroup/Region. It was not the intention to suggest that all these tasks should be undertaken by the ECLO.

ECSC prepared a summary of the discussion, and that document may be read here.
