Confirmation of Attendance Certificates

The Chit System

The confirmation of attendance system, also known as “the chit system”, is a scheme to provide people with a document to show that they have attended a particular meeting if they need to demonstrate their attendance.
Fellows can then show the confirmation to probation or offender services, employers, Children’s or Social Services, or other authorities as a record of their attendance at meetings.
The system has been endorsed by Conference as complying with the Traditions and operates without compromising anyone’s anonymity. It is up to the person requesting the chits to report on themselves to whoever is supervising them.
Chits are printed with anti-counterfeit ink and use the group’s ID number as a ‘signature’ to ensure the anonymity of the member filling them out.
Here is an example:

Meetings which operate this system display an envelope icon (shown below) next to the meeting listing on the AA GB Find a Meeting webpage to indicate that attendance chits are available.
