Online Response Service (Email Responder)
Responding to emails sent to

The Online Response Service (ORS) replies to over 1,200 emails per month and the main purpose is to help the still suffering alcoholic by putting them in contact with the AA Telephone Service and their local AA Group.

Responders are members of AA working from their own homes in 2-hour shifts using simple web-based email.

Training and ongoing support is provided and responders collaborate and help each other via a private online chat group.

Chat Now Service (Online Chat Responder)

The aim of Chat Now is to give newcomers and other website visitors live contact with a member of the fellowship for helpline and local meeting information or other various questions dealing with alcoholism and AA.

Chat Now is made up of a team of volunteers who work in 2 hour shifts from their home computers. Comprehensive training is given, but it is recommended that there be a working knowledge of computers and of the internet.
