Intergroup Officers
Executive Committee
The chair, vice chair, treasurer and secretary form CWIG’s executive and are collectively responsible for setting meeting agendas and for addressing any issues as and when they occur. The executive seeks to be transparent and is accountable to the members of CWIG.
Members of the executive committee should have at least two years continuous sobriety and are expected to serve for a minimum of two and a maximum of three years.

The chair has overall responsibility for CWIG for ensuring that it does what is expected of it and acts in the best interests of Alcoholics Anonymous in Coventry & Warwickshire. They also act as a point of contact for groups, meetings and individuals with safeguarding concerns and chair CWIG meetings.
Generally, other officers should have at least two years continuous sobriety, be known to CWIG and be prepared to serve for a period of two years. However, CWIG may, from time to time, vary these requirements.
The Vice Chair deputises for the chair as and when required.
The secretary is responsible for taking minutes of CWIG meetings, circulating papers before and after meetings and maintaining a register of group and meeting GSRs and contacts.
The treasurer is responsible for ensuring that CWIG is accountable, in a healthy financial position, sets an annual budget, maintains a prudent reserve and passes on any surplus to Region.
Other Officer roles
Generally, other officers should have at least two years continuous sobriety, be known to CWIG and be prepared to serve for a period of two years. However, CWIG may, from time to time, vary these requirements.

The PILO is responsible for ensuring that Alcoholics Anonymous is visible in Coventry and Warwickshire. They are also responsible for liaising with the HLO, PrLO, YPLO and PLO to ensure that effort is not duplicated and liaison trakes place with other organisations.
The TLO is responsible for ensuring that the Coventry & Warwickshire telephone service is available and staffed as required and plays its part in AA’s national telephone service. They are also responsible for recruiting, training, inducting and supporting telephone responders and for liaising with the telephone infrastructure provider.
The HLO is responsible for liaising with health related bodies and in particular with the two hospitals that CWIG serves (Warwick & Coventry), ensuring that rotas are drawn up for each hospital and recruiting and inducing new hospital team members.
The PLO is responsible for liaising with the two prisons that CWIG serves (HMP Rye Hill and HMP Onley), arranging rotas for each prison and recruiting and inducting new prison team members.
The PrLO is responsible for liaising with probation and other offender related services and for ensuring that any offender initiatives (for example the chit system) are implemented.
The YPLO is responsible for ensuring that Alcoholics Anonymous in Coventry and Warwickshire meets the needs of and is attractive to young people.
The AFLO is responsible for liaising with armed forces locally and with armed forces organisations. They are also responsible for ensuring that relevant CWIG officers are aware of any armed forces related initiatives.

Employment Liaison Officers carry the message to employers within their area supported by their intergroup, region and PI/Service Committee if one exists. Employment covers any organisation employing or serving staff companies, trade unions and associations, government departments and/or related agencies. The role should be undertaken for three years by someone with an established period of sobriety as it may involve dealing with a wide range of professional people and talking about AA when invited to do so.

The ECLO is responsible for maintaining and developing CWIG’s microsite and any other sites that it may create. They are also responsible for advising CWIG on issues related to electronic communications and taking any agreed course of action.
Regional representatives are responsible for taking the voice of CWIG to Region, playing an active role in regional meetings and ensuring that CWIG is fully informed. CWIG may have three regional representatives at any given time. Each representative is expected to have at least three years continuous sobriety and serve for a period of three years.

The national chat and e-mail service is looking for new members to join. A minimum of two years continuous sobriety is required and full training will be provided
