The Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) General Service Conference in Great Britain is an annual event that brings together AA members to discuss and make decisions that affect the fellowship as a whole. The conference is a way for the AA group conscience to express itself and ensure that the fellowship continues to carry its message.
Purpose: To discuss matters of importance to AA, and to make decisions that will ensure the fellowship’s continuity
Format: Delegates from AA groups across Great Britain raise questions and discuss matters at a plenary session
Decisions: A two-thirds majority vote is required for a proposal to be binding on the board
Outcomes: Conference Advisory Actions are referred to the trustees of the General Service Board for action
Location: Usually held in York in April
