Telephone Responders and 12 Steppers

Telephone Responders

BC&WF Intergroup is seeking extra support from telephone responders for this important service role, which covers our local helpline. The position involves assisting newcomers, their friends and family, as well as members of the fellowship. If you have at least one year of continuous sobriety, you may qualify to take on this role.

For more information about what a telephone responder does, please see the guidelines HERE

12 Steppers

The main function of the 12 steppers service is to connect a newcomer with AA in
the first instance a phone call, then if agreed meeting up in person or at a specified
AA meeting. You are the second point of contact for the caller though very often the
first AA they will meet in person.

It is vitally important that we continue to provide this service for the suffering
alcoholic and the continuation of AA.
