Fenland History

History of the first Fenland Intergroup Meeting

Intergroup was formed in 1986 and it's first meeting was held in the NAAFI recreation room at Waterbeach Barracks, Cambridge on Sunday the 30th of November at 3pm.

There were 18 members present, with groups from across
the region represented.  The naming of the new intergroup
which came about from the division of the old North Anglia Intergroup
was discussed and the popular choice was Fenland as it broadly
described the area.

Other items that where discussed were the setting
up of the banking structure, the service positions that would
be required.  The appointment of a Public Information Officer
was considered to be of high importance and it was agreed
that the new Fenland Intergroup should initially concentrate
the majority of it efforts on P.I work.
