The map below graphically illustrates why the PI Committee decided to focus on carrying our message in North Luton. For over 20 years, Lewsey has been the only AA meeting in the constituency for an adult population of over 66,000!

It is estimated that 1.5% of the UK adult population are dependent on alcohol. This means that nearly 1,000 adults in North Luton can do with our help!

One of the local churches we invited to the Public Meeting in August offered the use of their hall at a reasonable rate if we needed a venue for meetings. Only two weeks after the Public Meeting, we opened our new meeting at The Holy Cross Church, Marsh Farm, on 8th September. This was well-supported by members to help the meeting get off the ground.

Now we have opened a new meeting in Marsh Farm, we need to let the local community know about it! Posters providing meeting details and AA leaflets are being placed at all GPs, churches, community centres and libraries in the area. Some local post offices and shops allow window adverts to be placed at nominal cost and we aim to take advantage of this.
