How do we register a new AA Group?
A 'Pink Form' should be completed.
- You may ring GSO: 01904
644026 and request one be sent.
- You may download one, print
it and complete it by hand, then post it to GSO. The download address is here.
- You may complete one online.
It will be sent by email directly to GSO. The online form is here.|
(Please read the notes supplied before completing the form).
Why is our Group not listed in the Meeting Finder?
If a Pink Form has been received,
then your group should be listed. A missing or wrong postcode can lead to
someone thinking that the meeting does not appear. For example:
Wrong postcode:
- When the Meeting Finder is
asked to list groups close to a known point, it uses postcodes to
calculate distances. A wrong postcode will make this calculation in error.
So a meeting known to be close to a town centre may be listed as being as
several miles away. On the accompanying map, the marker may be not be in
the correct place.
- The
Meeting finder uses the postcode to calculate distances to your current location/search
entry. Without the postcode it may not show on search results or on the map or
meetings. If it is listed, it may be at the very end of the list.
Solution
- Send in a Pink Form with the
correct Postcode.
- If you know the postcode is
correct, notify the ECSC using the contact page here
to report 'Problems with the website'.
Where can we find our
Group Registration Number?
When we fill in a Pink Form, we are asked for a Group
Registration Number. It is not essential to know this, but it is useful to GSO
staff when calling up Group Records.
- It is printed on envelopes sent from GSO to
Groups e.g. mailings of AA Service News
- It can be found on an Intergroup's microsite.
Every intergroup has such a microsite, and within it is a page "Download
Meetings List in PDF Format". On this list, the Group's Number (also known
as a 'UID') can be found.
