Editorial

For the most part, in AA, we all enjoy this time of year. Whilst there will always be those who criticise the goodwill that abounds and pile on the humbug, the vast majority of us understand that the opportunity to practise our Programme and enjoy the new life we have been freely given should not be wasted.

If you are new to our Fellowship we understand that this can be a stressful time. You may be lonely. You may feel that others are all enjoying life whilst you are floundering. Understand, if you can, we have all been there. You will get through it. Please, if possible, stay close to the Fellowship. There will be places of safety, extra meetings and no doubt a few AA dances over the festive season. Stick with it. Get into the middle of the bed.

For our members that are not so new, please consider our triangle: Unity, Service, Recovery. What we give to those who are new to the Fellowship should be every bit as good, if not better, than what was given to us.

During the Christmas season having a positive attitude of - "What can I bring to the occasion?" rather than "What's in it for me?" is a good place to start. Allow yourself to be used and try not to see this as being abused which is an old corroding thread that will spoil our attempts to amend our relationships.

We, at Roundabout would like to wish you all our best for the season and our continued thanks for the support of your magazine. Please keep the articles and subscriptions coming.
