I Have Changed

I knew AA existed, so I googled it and phoned the number. I think it was a man I spoke to first and eventually a woman phoned me back. We still speak on the phone nearly every day and I’m very grateful to say that she’s my sponsor today.

I came to AA in February 2021, and my first meetings were online as lockdown had happened. My very first meeting had been started by AA members in Caithness on Wednesdays at noon and though I can’t remember much about what was said, I can remember the people being so kind and telling me I wasn’t alone anymore. I went to a lot of online meetings, in particular one that was hosted by people in Moray which was on every night, and I remember feeling I belonged somewhere for the first time in my life.
