There is a Solution

When I look back on my drinking life, I see an obvious pattern of ups and downs, downs and ups. After forty years of drinking there were more downs than ups, leading to the ultimate down – attempted suicide and that was what brought me to AA. I had tried everything else: self-will, changing drinks, changing wives, changing houses, changing countries but nothing really worked. Occasionally these methods seemed to work but they never lasted. Finally, it was time to try the one thing that I’d avoided for decades – Alcoholics Anonymous.
