Dear Friends

June 10th is the anniversary of the founding of Alcoholics Anonymous, and Gratitude Week was created by Chiltern and Thames Intergroup in the mid 1980’s, through separate collection, for members to contribute what a day’s drinking would cost them at today’s prices. The monies would be sent to their Intergroup Treasurer, who would forward the total collected, directly to GSO. Via our Contributions page here.

Following the success of this initiative Conference 1988 made the following recommendation: –

“That the Fellowship contrives to recognise our anniversary on 10th June by holding annually a Gratitude/Sobriety week”

All Gratitude Week monies should be forwarded to GSO by 30th September 2026 which is the last day of the current Financial Year.

The General Service Board are therefore infinitely grateful for your generosity.
