National Advertising Campaign 26th December 2024 – 31st January 2025

Our Advertising Campaign of 1st July 2024 continues its national poster site campaign.

The campaign will appear on approximately 100 billboards across GB provided by JCDecaux as part of their Community Channel program.

As before each headline contains two A’s which are prominently featured by blurring the other letters. ‘It’s intended to be a visual interpretation of life through alcoholic eyes, with the two in focus ‘A’s representing the clarity the organisation can provide to help sobriety’, explained Pete Cain at The Raised Eyebrow Society, who created the campaign.

Perhaps intriguingly, the posters do not include the AA logo. Alcoholics Anonymous has a tradition of “attraction rather than promotion”, so the campaign was developed with that in mind. We believe the target audience will understand that the two ‘A’s refer to Alcoholics Anonymous, given the context of the messages.

You can contact the General Service Office of Alcoholics Anonymous with any media requests on 01904 644026 or email: media@aamail.org.

See link to our Image Bank below for the Fellowship to follow and use the material for their own bespoke local campaigns. To request access to the images please email imagebank@gsogb.org.uk

We have also used the concept in a digital National Advertising Campaign in the Times online 19th December 2024 and Sun Online 8th January 2025
