Scottish National Convention 2017
The Chairs of Scotland's five regions and the board trustee for the Scottish National Committee met in October to discuss the future of the Scottish National Convention. It was decided at that meeting that all regions need to commit to the convention and that the current committee was not properly representative of the Scottish Regions. The meeting concluded that the convention needs to be restructured. As it was late in the year and there was much work to be done the chairs decided to cancel the 2017 Scottish National Convention.

There will be no Scottish National Convention in 2017.

In January 2017, the vice chairs of all Scottish regions will meet to scope the needs of the convention and look to get it up and running again in 2018. The sub-committee of the vice chairs will conduct a feasibility study looking at all aspects of the convention from committee terms of reference to ideal locations and dates and will report back to the Scottish regions with their recommendations in due course

The chairs very much regret having to take this decision but it was the best, indeed only option open to them. Details of future Scottish National Conventions will be published as soon as they are know and agreed
