Welcome to the Literature Sub-Committee section of the members’ website.
Since the publication of the Big Book, literature has been crucial in carrying AA’s message of recovery. Our books and leaflets are vital tools in our twelfth step work.
Our Structure Handbook states that the General Service Board is responsible for ‘the printing and publishing of AA books and pamphlets (AA published and Conference approved)’ and ‘the distribution of books and pamphlets in Great Britain, and English-speaking AA groups throughout Europe (Continental European Region)’.
The Board does this through the Literature Sub-Committee (LSC) keeping our literature up to date and available.
Most new and updated literature comes about because of a decision by the General Service Conference. The GSC will decide if new literature is needed. The LSC will draft that new literature and send back not GSC for approval. Once approved it will become Conference Approved Literature and will be published.
