Telephones

Here you will find information regarding the Telephone Service and its successful operation throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Within these pages we hope you will find information regarding the Telephone Service and its successful operation throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

'AA speaks with a special voice. It is the voice of experience, understanding and compassion. It is a voice which talks to silence, to fear, to sobbing hopelessness or shouting anger - it is the first and only voice a newcomer should hear. We have a duty to every suffering alcoholic to help them to ask for help. Before the 12th step work there has to be a call for help'. Conference report - 1997.

Tradition Five tells us that we have one primary purpose, that of carrying the 'message to the alcoholic who still suffers'.

The AA pledge is, also, relevant to our telephone service:

'I am responsible ... When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there. And for that: I am responsible'..
