Vacant Service Positions

We have the following service positions vacant. Please note that being a GSR is not a prerequisite for service in these roles.

Secretary
Has responsibility with the Chair for preparing the agenda and minutes of meetings and for distributing these via email to GSRs. Also keeps in touch with the General Service Office making sure they have copies of the minutes and notice of any changes of officers.

Public Information Officer
Responsible for ensuring that information about the AA message and programme of recovery is conveyed to outside organisations to the best possible advantage. The provision of a panel of members to comply with requests for speakers is an important part of this activity.

Health Liaison Officer
Responsible for establishing links with health professionals and co-ordinating all aspects of carrying the message within the healthcare system.

Employment Liaison Officer
Assumes responsibility for liaising with all sectors of commerce and industry.

Young People’s Liaison Officer
Typically somebody who came into AA at the age of 30 or younger and so will have experience of getting sober at a young age. Works closely with other service officers, especially Public Information.

Probation Liaison Officer
A Probation Liaison Officer/Social Services AA Liaison Officer is responsible for establishing links with the probation services.

Archivist
Responsible for collecting, arranging, preserving and providing access to permanent historical records of enduring value.
