Angus & District Intergroup
Newcomers
If you are new to AA or want information about stopping drinking, then we would encourage you to anonymously download and read a short and informative pamphlet from the main website here.
Details and options for contacting AA are available here.
Meetings
There are regular physical meetings in Angus and District, covering every day of the week, spread between Arbroath, Brechin, Carnoustie, Dundee, Forfar, Monifieth, Montrose, and Stracathro.
We welcome everyone, and especially encourage newcomers and visitors to the area. Most of the meetings are “closed” with the exception of Stracathro Sunday. Most meetings will be made “open” on request. We are here to help, and really do understand; you are not alone, and it will get better.
Our on-line meetings generally adhere as closely as possible to our normal routine and observe the AA Traditions as best we can. The only requirement to attend a meeting is the desire to stop drinking.
If you would like to attend a meeting in Angus & District then please follow this link for details.
Please confine any shares to your problems as they relate to alcoholism.
Activities
The Intergroup carries the message of AA in a variety of ways. Together we:
– Help operate the AA telephone helpline and respond to 12th-step calls from our area
– Respond to requests for AA talks in schools and at community meetings
– Hold events such as an annual convention
Our Intergroup meets every three months. Any AA member can attend.
If you are interested in attending Intergroup meetings you are welcome to come: contact secretary.angus@aamail.org for details.
Volunteering for service
We are always looking for AA members to help carry the message, and there are a number of service positions in our Intergroup area which are currently vacant. If you would like to volunteer to help, you will need to come along to the meetings and let us know. Either speak to your GSR (Group Service Representative) at your meeting or contact secretary.angus@aamail.org
