Alcoholics Anonymous… ‘A Resource to Professionals’
A presentation hosted by Lord Cameron of Dillington
Thursday 3rd June 2025 from 3.00pm to 5.00pm
The Cholmondeley Room and Terrace, House of Lords, Westminster SW1A 0PA
You are cordially invited to the 21st Annual Presentation and Reception of Alcoholics Anonymous hosted by Lord Cameron of Dillington.
Our aim is to help professionals, practitioners and Parliamentarians get a better understanding of Alcoholics Anonymous. Alcoholics Anonymous is a free resource that works for many people. We are not allied with any religious or other body, and we are self-supporting through our own contributions. We exist to help suffering alcoholics recover from the illness of alcoholism.
While Alcoholics Anonymous does not affiliate with any outside organisation, we do cooperate with health and social care professionals who work with people whose alcoholism is part of the problem. Alcoholics Anonymous is based around the concept of recovery from a persisting, chronic illness; it is a synthesis of ideologies and attitudes which came to us through medical and spiritual principles.
The presentation will include:
- ‘Real life’ experiences from two alcoholics in recovery.
- Input from professionals who have a wealth of experience dealing with suffering alcoholics and what affect their involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous has had.
- Questions & Answers session from the floor.
- Buffet refreshments
