The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted AA meetings. Some are taking place on Zoom and some are in-person meetings. As each group is autonomous, it is up to them to decide how they proceed, while keeping in mind current government and public health advice.
The AA UK website is updating their page here: https://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk/Members/Coronavirus-Disease-(COVID~19)-Notice
It is possible to search for meetings that have reopened by using the AA Meeting Finder and under the Accessibility drop-down menu (next to the Search button), selecting 'Physical meeting back open after lockdown'.
If a venue is open, please follow the recommended guidelines of having hand sanitiser at the door, wiping down all surfaces, leaving distance between chairs so people aren't so close together, not passing a pot around, avoiding shaking hands, hugging etc.
In the meantime, some meetings have put together Whatsapp groups to stay in touch, so you may wish to set this up for your groups. If you do this, please ensure people who provide their numbers give their consent for their number to be visible to others.
There are online meetings available. If you go to the Find A Meeting part of the AA website, and type in 'online' into the space where you'd normally put your town or postcode, it will show a list of online AA meetings.
