Apologies: Joe, John H, Chris, Debbie, Gordon. Chris

Readings: Michael - Traditions, Jenny -Preamble, Roger - declaration of service

Minutes of last meeting: Approved

Vacant inter group Officer positions:

Public Relations Officer.

Young Persons Liaison (must have been under 30 when achieved sobriety).

Health Liaison ?? involves getting information on AA out to GPs/Health settings ?? e.g. getting leaflets into GP surgeries

Region ?? Currently Joe and Greg are our Region Reps and Tracey has volunteered to take on the role. It is not ideal that Joe, Tracey & Greg are officers of our intergroup. But in the absence of anyone else is allowed. Region Reps. At least with 3 people attending Region our voting strength in Region is utilised and we open up the opportunity of sending someone form our intergroup to conference.

GSRs are urged to promote these positions to their groups

Officer Reports:

Treasurer: Intergroup Funds as at 4th December 2022 - 3,977.89 (made up of 423.44 cash and 3554.45 in the Bank)

Tracey??s proposal to send 2500 to Region was approved

Does anyone know which group Jason S is from?

TLO: Sue hasdevised new leaflets and the telephone service has taken off. She has received lots of volunteers ?? (see attached- please take back to meetings)- idea care from IOW. The leaflets have been left on literature desks and have resulted in a full complement of responders. The leaflet clarifies questions about the telephone service and is something concrete for people to take away and jog their memory to contact SUE

Sue attended the GSO TLO seminar in York. She needs to be reimbursed for her first rail ticket which was not transferable. Sue to speak to Tracey.Sue agreed that she would first query this with train operator

Convention:

The 2022 Mini Convention was held on Saturday 8th October 2022 at Our Lady The Immaculate and St. Andrew in Hitchin.

The event went extremely well and was very well attended (over 100) particularly from out of the area.So maybe we need to find out what??s keeping local people from attending?

A new Banner to show the new Intergroup name was expensive Banner so the convention ended up 6 pounds in debt. so only a small float for next year. All bills were covered There was 137 in kitty to go to Region

There were the following stands:

Telephone Service

Public Information,

Share

Literature stall

Chairs were good but were hard to find

New Committee members Martin & Michael brough new enthusiasm to the event

Share:

  • 50th Anniversary this year

  • Articles take about three months from dispatch to publication

  • Electronic version is not as popular as print.

  • Still 1 per copy

Wednesday lunchtime feelings AA meeting continues to meet at the Methodist Church in Stevenage High Street 12.30pm to 14.00pm..

Thursday lunchtime 'open dialogue' AA meeting at the All saints Church at the Oval, Stevenage 12.30pm to 14.00pm.

Numbers are now back too pre-Covid attendance. Around 12-18 weekly. Meeting has a prudent reserve in the bank & has rent paid up in advance & made recent donations to intergroup. We are currently struggling to fill all the service positions as a majority of our members have less than 9 months sobriety. However we have a regular treasurer, tea person, literature/share rep & I am currently filling the secretary & GSR positions - but we hope to sponsor newer members into service positions soon. Older members are very supportive also & we continue to have newcomers attending & family members seeking help due to another family members alcoholism as all of our meetings are open.

Please join us here in Stevenage Old Town & we are pleased to say there will be no interruptions to our meetings over Christmas & New

We are meeting regularly & getting good numbers around 10-15 each week. We have a prudent reserve & have made a recent donation to intergroup. Our service positions are full. Please come & join us in our weekly healing circle. Our meetings are unaffected over the holiday

AOB

  • Roger supplied Chitra with Bank details

  • Barclay??s Bank in Letchworth closing making it difficult for Tracey to pay in cheques ?? please send electronic transfers if possible

  • North Herts & South Beds WhatsApp group needs to be under the control of IG officers. JH to contact Christ Humphrey and establish a more formal set of criteria for posting on this WhatsApp. People who do not attend IG should not be allowed to post and posts should be restricted to business notices. Greg and Michael would like to be added to the WhatsApp.

  • Jenny, Tracey & Greg to try to arrange GSR workshop

  • Chitra would like time of intergroup to change to an evening and perhaps move to a more central venue such as Shefford (Sue to check parking) or to Wixhams (which has an excellent venue). Jenny & Sue would not want to attend evening meetings

  • Sunday 7pm meeting at Royston will be open at its usual time both on Christmas Day and on New Year??s Day this year. Please paas that on as necessary.

Next meeting will be F2F on 11th March, 2023

The meeting ended with the Serenity Prayer
