North & East Ayrshire Intergroup

The next meeting of Intergroup will be on May 6, 2018. The venue is Woodlands Centre, Kilwinning Road, Irvine, and the start time is 1pm. All welcome. Minutes available from the secretary Alan, Irvine Monday night group.

Intergroup is a partnership of AA groups, just as an AA group is a partnership of individuals. Intergroup helps to administer AA in each area and plays a vital role in carrying the message.
Each AA group is autonomous, making decisions for itself and its members, but Intergroup has a wider role. It is responsible for maintaining the telephone helpline, for explaining how the Fellowship functions to outside agencies and for taking the message to schools, prisons and hospitals, as well as collecting the money that funds AA.
Intergroup needs members to function and to support our primary purpose of helping other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Those who give time, energy and love in the service of the Fellowship find that their sobriety is strengthened. Simple service tasks have helped individuals to develop confidence and gain a new-found belief in their own value and opinions, self-respect and self-worth. Please speak to any Intergroup member about lending a hand. Your contribution is important!

Group registration forms
Unfortunately, the work we all did to register groups using the pink form process will require to be done again. York have informed Intergroup that the batch of forms for this area was never received - "lost in the post" is the conclusion that the secretary and GSO have reluctantly come to. The secretary has a supply of new forms which he will be issuing in the months ahead to GSOs. It has never been as important as now to ensure this procedure is followed - because of the increasing number of newcomers finding out about AA through the internet. This can only work if every group's details are lodged with York for posting on the official AA website. Most people now come to AA through the Internet and not through the helpline. Please contact Intergroup or the secretary directly to pick up new pink forms. More information is available online or through the secretary, who can also assist in the completion of the form. Thanks to everyone who has been understandable about this problem. It's just another hurdle to get over in passing on the message. But we WILL get there!
You will need your group ID number to complete the form. Here are the numbers which are posted on AA's official website:
