North & East Ayrshire Intergroup
The next meeting of Intergroup will be on May 6, 2018. The venue is Woodlands Centre, Kilwinning Road, Irvine, and the start time is 1pm. All welcome. Minutes available from the secretary Alan, Irvine Monday night group.
SO, JUST WHAT IS INTERGROUP?
Intergroup is a partnership of AA
groups, just as an AA group is a partnership of individuals. Intergroup helps
to administer AA in each area and plays a vital role in carrying the message.
Each AA group is autonomous, making decisions for itself and its members, but Intergroup
has a wider role. It is responsible for maintaining the telephone helpline, for
explaining how the Fellowship functions to outside agencies and for taking the
message to schools, prisons and hospitals, as well as collecting the money
that funds AA.
Intergroup needs members to function and to support our primary
purpose of helping other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Those who give time,
energy and love in the service of the Fellowship find that their sobriety is
strengthened. Simple service tasks have helped individuals to develop
confidence and gain a new-found belief in their own value and opinions,
self-respect and self-worth. Please speak to any Intergroup member about
lending a hand. Your contribution is important!
