Editorial October 2019

Audio Version

Welcome to our October Share. The weather is now a little cooler in my favourite part of the year, autumn. As this is the Tenth month we have articles on Step Ten and we have several well written pieces thanks to our Share writers.

So, "Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it." For me this is the part of the Programme where I am moving from dealing with my past towards living in the present, in the day. When I first started working this Step it meant writing lists, being thorough, working at it. The Steps require us to do work on them, to take action. Writing down my daily inventory is an action. But then as I continued to work this on a daily basis I discovered things like, "If I manage to keep my mouth shut and not make that smart remark at someone else's expense then I won't have to go back and apologise." Hard to start with but for me this programme is very much about practice on a daily basis. I love that sort of repetition in AA. It is good for my head. As I carried on working this it has become more and more of my daily life, me living in the day. I love it.

The AA Calendar and Diary is ready! Please see the advert in this Share. Our loyal service person has been working away to bring this to you. Great gifts for sponsees, friends and family.

At my home group we had a Group Conscience Meeting, something we do about every six weeks. Chaired by our GSR, the groups members contributing, listening, thinking of the Traditions, discussing how we run our group. Everyone had a voice. At the end of the meeting many of us said, "Well that was good."
