EDITORIAL MARCH 2020
Dear ReaderWelcome to our March edition of Share, the third month with articles on Step Three and Tradition Three. The Tradition that states, "The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking." I love this Tradition. It shows me there is no difference between any of us judging by the amount we had drunk. Whether a bottle of vodka and a few beer chasers, several glasses of wine or an attack on the sherry decanter each night. The one thing that is the same between us is that we just could not live without it, we always needed more. Now in recovery we all support each other. No boundaries, no distinctions between us. We are all equal members of this amazing Fellowship. We all understand each other so much.
Another amazing thing about Tradition Three is that I don't even have to say I am an alcoholic. This I found to be very helpful in my early days in the Fellowship. My head would play the 'Ping-Pong' game, "Am I an alcoholic-am I not an alcoholic?" In AA I found these questions do not really matter. If I have a desire to stop drinking then I am in. I am a part of this. I discovered that for me it was more important to be in the group than to continue with endless pointless debate in my head.
Thank you to Suky B. for the cover picture of Eastbourne seafront for our February magazine and to Adrian T. who has also provided many pictures for Share.
We always need a good picture at Share. Would you like to submit yours for us? Because of printing requirements it has to be 2mb plus in size. Just a suggestion!
