Dear Reader

Welcome to our August edition. We have a new feature for you, The 'Share Interview' for which the Editor is a guinea pig. We have also added a Glossary of terms at the back as the Share team thought we should clarify exactly where a quotation is from.

On our recovery journey we have reached Step Eight, made a list and become willing. This is an action Step, some of which will come from our fourth Step inventory and other names we may add as we become more aware of our past actions. AA is a Programme of action, the action we take in writing this list will become a part of our recovery. We may look at this list with fear and apprehension, but once those names are all down on paper it becomes a finite list and not a mad swirl of names running around our heads. It is difficult to live in the past if we are constantly in fear of meeting up with a person we have harmed in some way. Sobriety is very much about us alcoholics in recovery being able to live in the day without such fears dominating our lives.

Willingness is the key to this Step. But the Programme, our sponsor, meetings and our Fellows experience will no doubt suggest that although we may not be able to contemplate making those amends today we can ask to be willing to be willing to make those amends at some time in the future.

We are also looking for your Hints and Tips for getting through the festive season sober for our December edition. In March 2020 we would like to feature articles from our younger members and your Experience, Strength and Hope.
