Editorial

The AAGB website has recently been relaunched thanks to the committed, hard work of the Electronic Communication Sub-Committee (ECSC) and Roundabout still has a presence on the site. Each month two articles appear: one from a man; the other from a woman. You can either read them or listen to them.

Being able to listen to these articles is only possible because two AA members take the time each month to record themselves reading aloud the article they have been sent. This service for AA allows a snippet of Roundabout to be heard not only in Scotland but across the world and the Roundabout Sub-Committee are hugely grateful for the ongoing support of our two dedicated 'recorders'.

This month we faced a particular challenge - we had no articles from women to print or to record. This happens quite often unfortunately yet thankfully, because of the Roundabout archives, women who came before us and who took the time to write into the magazine came to our rescue, once again. The two articles on pages 8 and 9 are from the August 2009 issue of the magazine and it will be one of those which will be recorded for the website this month.

Since becoming Editor I've delved into many past issues of the magazine and the plea for articles, in general, has always existed - one previous Editor even took the innovative step of printing an issue with some blank pages in it to really get their point across. I've no intention - yet - of being so dramatic.

All we can hope for is that some of the women who are sharing their Experience, Strength and Hope in AA meetings across Scotland today will consider writing in to Roundabout so that Scotland's '...fellowship of men and women...' here in 2019 can be read and heard right now and in the future.
