Alcoholics Anonymous Awareness Event
At the invitation of Fergus Ewing MSP, Alcoholics Anonymous is to hold its 14th Annual Presentation
The Fleming Room, Holyrood, Edinburgh, EH99 1SP
Wednesday 4th October at 6.00pm for 6.30pm - 8.00pm
(There is no charge to attend this event)
Our aim is to help professionals and Parliamentarians get a better understanding of Alcoholics Anonymous.
This event provides the opportunity to hear first-hand from members of Alcoholics Anonymous, who have found sobriety and experienced positive social impact in their lives and the lives of those around them. Presentations will give MSP’s insight into the reality of the programme of recovery available in Scotland to all who suffer from alcoholism.
One of our objectives is to dispel some of the myths and misunderstanding surrounding AA. Especially that AA is in any way religious, we rather, through experience suggest members develop a spiritual way of life to live upon.
Alcoholics Anonymous is free and it does work. We are not allied with any religious or other body, and we are self-supporting through our own contributions. We exist to help suffering alcoholics recover from the illness of alcoholism.
Included in the agenda are:
- Input from professionals who have a wealth of experience dealing with suffering alcoholics and what affect their involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous has had.
- ‘Real life’ experiences from alcoholics in recovery.
- Questions & Answers session from the floor.
- Buffet
