STEP 11

SOUGHT THROUGH PRAYER & MEDITATION

Audio Version

I feel this Step is so often forgotten about, and yet for good quality of life we need to be able to use it. To speak to your Higher Power is an easy thing to do with practice even if it sounds like you’re double checking everything but as they say if you don't go with the first thought and give yourself time to think it through can save us a lot of time and effort.  Sometimes something is staring us in the face but we procrastinate spoiling a good workflow. The trick with any task is to stand back look at it and ask someone or your Higher Power; if in doubt wait and get advice.  This will make you realise it’s worth it not to rush in.

It is important to have that conscious contact; to feel you are on your own totally is not a good place to be.  Stop and reassure yourself that God is with you all the time as a guiding force.

There are many forms of meditation, anything from reading a book to riding a bike is a form of meditation which improves our concentration. For us to try to empty our minds of everything is a tall order and makes most of us give in but to concentrate on one thing for a while is also good for clarity of thought.  Clarity of mind makes it work much more efficiently and raises esteem when worked on.

Good luck.
