Roundabout Sub-committee Vacancies

We need at least two new volunteers to help with the production of the magazine
every month. The magazine is produced by the Editorial Team in accordance with
the Roundabout house style. The work includes reading and typing articles, rating
them as suitable for publication, proofreading and general support to the Editor in
maintaining the monthly schedule. Roundabout also has a presence on the AA
website, which is updated monthly. Most of the work is done at home, and the team
meets 4/5 times per year in Glasgow.


Successful applicants will become members of the Roundabout Sub Committee.
They should have a minimum of 5 years’ continuous sobriety, be able to read and reply to emails and have good
English literary skills.


We welcome applicants from all parts of Scotland. Application forms are available
from GSO or are downloadable from the website document library. (A pdf version may be downloaded from here.) These should be returned to GSO accompanied by a letter of support from Intergroup or Region.

VACANCY

Fellowship Calendar and Diaries Production Editor

There is a vacancy which offers exciting opportunities for service.  Preference will be given to those with some experience of magazine or similar types of productions, i.e., calendar and/or diaries.  Though not entirely essential, it would be helpful of applicants have some experience of either copywriting, DTP, scanning, photo retouching or a similar graphical/publications background.

This is a four-year unpaid commitment, although expenses may be claimed.  Members must have a minimum of five years continuous sobriety at the time of application.  They should be familiar with Conference-approved literature, Alcoholics Anonymous, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, AA Comes of Age, Twelve Concepts and the AA Structure and Service Handbooks for Great Britain.

Depending on the location of the successful applicant, the position will be attached either to the SHARE or the Roundabout Editorial Team and Sub-Committee, which can hold up to four annual meetings, either in York/Glasgow or by conference-call, including an annual Liaisons OfficersÂ’ meeting.  The day-to-day business of the Team is carried out electronically.
