On Sunday 12th November West Yorkshire Intergroup is organising its annual one day convention (the "pie & peas" convention) at Shelf Village Hall, HX3 7NF - doors open at 9am. For a flyer click here. And for a map click here.

A new meeting is starting in Dewsbury on a Thursday evening. The first meeting will be on 2nd November at 7.30pm. The venue is the Central Methodist Church, Daisy Hill, Dewsbury WF13 1LS.

The meeting held each Thursday at the Fanny Waterman Centre, Seacroft is suspended until further notice.

There is a new meeting starting in Tadcaster on 5th October at 8pm. The venue is the Salvation Army Hall, Chapel Street, Tadcaster. The theme for this meeting is "Triumph over Tragedy".

Armley Men's Prison (HMP Leeds) has had AA's presence for many decades and the demand for regular AA meetings is very strong. However there is a real risk meetings will cease if more people from the fellowship don't come forward to carry the message.

Currently only ONE person is running meetings but irregularly, which means, sadly, inmates are missing out on the AA message.

If you have TWO years sobriety and are interested please contact Raj M ("former Prison Liaison Officer" - home group St Lane) asap

1) This is a plea for people to "come and run meetings regularly at prison" (whatever you can manage eg: once a month or more)

2) Currently meetings are run on a Monday afternoon at 2.15pm (Ideally arrive at prison at 1.45pm and meetings run for an hour)

3) Men and Women are equally invited to run these regular meetings (this has been common practice at Prison)

4) IN ADDITION: If you would like to apply for the position of PLO (Prison Liaison Officer - Men or Women) which is currently vacant and also 'urgently' needs filling, please speak to your home group's GSR in the first instance, or Raj, who can be contacted at

Thank you
